Avery County Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness in our community and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need.

Since 1991 Avery County Habitat fort Humanity has built more than 56 homes changing the lives of more than 250 men women and children. This is made possible through partnerships among homeowners volunteers habitat staff suppliers and generous donors.
