🌟 Employee Spotlight: Melissa Gattis 🌟 This week, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Melissa Gattis, our HUD Certified Counselor at the Franklin County office. Melissa does an outstanding job in our Housing Department, consistently going above and beyond to assist every individual who walks through her door. But her impact doesn’t stop there—Melissa is a true team player who steps up to help with every program and department in Franklin County whenever needed, always with a positive attitude and without a single complaint. Her dedication, kindness, and joyful spirit make a difference every single day. Melissa is known for always wearing a smile and bringing a fun, uplifting energy to the workplace. We are truly grateful and lucky to have Melissa as part of our Community Action family. Thank you, Melissa, for everything you do—you’re an essential part of our team and the work we do! (fb)

On Friday, our entire agency came together for a powerful day of training, inspiration, and connection. This meaningful gathering was made possible by our amazing Executive Director, David Crosby, who brought us together to reflect on the incredible impact we have on the lives we touch every day. He reminded us that what we do matters—why we do it matters—and the reason we are here truly matters. We were also blessed to hear from several impactful speakers who poured into us with wisdom and encouragement: Kevin Haslam, Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director of the UNA Foundation at the University of North Alabama, kicked off the day with an uplifting and motivational message. Ron Tyler shared his inspiring vision for the future of Florence and the initiatives he is working on to strengthen our city. Michael Martin, a licensed professional counselor with Pathways Professional Counseling and the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, gave a deeply impactful talk on burnout and finding purpose in our work. Tiffany and Johnathan Holladay, former program graduates, shared their heartfelt story of transformation, emphasizing the life-changing impact that Community Action programs have had on their lives. This gathering reminded us of the unity we share and the strength behind our mission. It brought a renewed sense of closeness—something we truly needed. At the Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama, our bond is unbreakable. Every team member here was handpicked by God to serve with purpose, compassion, and dedication. We are incredibly blessed with staff and leadership that are second to none. What a true blessing it is to be a part of Community Action. (fb)
