Private non-profit dedicated to helping our community through services to promote self-sufficiency. Meals on Wheels ensures that seniors have access to adequate nutrition daily.The nutritious meal, and friendly visit help them cope with three of the biggest threats of aging: hunger, isolation and loss of independence. Research proves that when seniors have the right support, they gain greater quality of life, need fewer hospital stays and live longer. When other competing responsibilities make it impossible or difficult for family to be there, Meals on Wheels can make sure our parents, grandparents and others important in our lives are cared for. Meals on Wheels of The Shoals currently serves meals to senior citizens daily in Lauderdale, Colbert and Franklin counties. Meals on Wheels of The Shoals is A Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama program.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Melissa Gattis 🌟 This week, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Melissa Gattis, our HUD Certified Counselor at the Franklin County office. Melissa does an outstanding job in our Housing Department, consistently going above and beyond to assist every individual who walks through her door. But her impact doesn’t stop there—Melissa is a true team player who steps up to help with every program and department in Franklin County whenever needed, always with a positive attitude and without a single complaint.

On Friday, our entire agency came together for a powerful day of training, inspiration, and connection. This meaningful gathering was made possible by our amazing Executive Director, David Crosby, who brought us together to reflect on the incredible impact we have on the lives we touch every day. He reminded us that what we do matters—why we do it matters—and the reason we are here truly matters.
