ALS has long impacted our Fraternity, beginning with our beloved brother Lou Gehrig. In 1983, Phi Delta Theta adopted ALS as our official philanthropy in his honor. Then in 2011, when Brother Neil Alexander was diagnosed, we ultimately partnered with his family to establish the Live Like Lou Foundation in 2017. Live Like Lou's vision—to leave ALS better than we found it—takes on even greater meaning when one of our own is affected. In the most recent issue of The Scroll, we recognized three brothers currently impacted. ⚔️ Brother Todd Nisbet, USC '87, and General Council member-at-large, courageously shared his ALS diagnosis with the brotherhood last summer. ⚔️ Brother Gary Glisson, Missouri '81, is supported with deep love and loyalty by his pledge brothers. ⚔️ Brother John Ceriotti, Drake '84, after losing his sister to ALS, and later receiving his own diagnosis, has become a passionate advocate for research and support.
