At Asante Africa Foundation, we believe every girl deserves to manage her period with dignity, safety, and confidence. That’s why, since 2021, we’ve partnered with AFRIpads Foundation to tackle period poverty head-on in Uganda’s Kassanda and Kyenjojo districts. Through annual distributions, skill-building workshops, and strong school-community engagement, girls are now making their own reusable pads — gaining both health knowledge and economic opportunity. The results speak volumes: 🔹 Menstrual-related school attendance has jumped from 50% to 90% — with some schools reaching 99% attendance 🔹 Academic performance has improved, with girls like Annet moving from Division Three to Division Two 🔹 Stigma around menstruation is breaking down, and menstrual health conversations are becoming normalized in our communities Periods shouldn’t pause potential.
