Montauk Rural Fire Department Montauk Rural Fire Department Montauk Rural Fire Department About Us Mission The Montauk Rural Fire Department MRFD is a 503c Nonprofit membership funded department and serves as the first due emergency response company for an area of approximately 90 square miles in and around the Montauk Missouri area of Southwestern Dent County. Our operations include but are not limited to structural and wildland fire suppression extrication and medical services during motor vehicle accidents along with first responder and search and rescue operations. We also provide extensive mutual aid services to all surrounding departments and maintain active Mutual Aid contracts with all surrounding emergency response agencies including county state and federal level. MRFD Response Coverage Area North Dent County Road 2500 West Dent and Texas County Line South Dent and Shannon County Line East Vertical line about 1 mile East of Hwy F History Submitted By Dorothy Wind On December 21 1993 an organizational meeting was held at the Trade Winds Store on Highway 119 for the purpose of obtaining the committment and participation of the local residents in establishing a volunteer fire department.
