In anticipation of the needs of present and future generations, we encourage awareness and participation in the vital relationships between health, environment, agriculture, aquaculture, and a thriving local economy. Through collaboration in a dynamic and strategic regional perspective, we work to grow the local food economy and make healthy food accessible to all. We strive to create a vibrant hub of activity on Aquidneck Island, sharing information, skills, and understanding, building the capacity to meet our common future.

Aquidneck Community Table works in many ways to build a vibrant food system on Aquidneck Island distribution of fresh foods at our farmers markets education in school and community gardens programs that inspire young people to love nutritious foods. Empowering youth to grow harvest and sell In 2021 we launched a youth employment program The Root Riders. Nine high school students from each of the three Aquidneck Island towns came together to care for school and community gardens in the North End of Newport.
