$89.61. That's the value of this one photo. We vaccinated 29 kittens and mamas with their FVRCP. Each kitten needs at least 3 - 89.61 covered vaccines, syringes and needles for one dose for 29 of our kittens who have aged up enough to receive them and their mamas (the ones not still nursing). This cost does not include the collection of the sharps bin where we appropriately dispose of the needles. Or any of the other expenses associated with it. We have been elated with the donations of food, KMR, etc. But vaccines, syringes, terramycin, amoxicillin, etc cannot be donated. We have to pay out of pocket. We tried to put together a list of everything we used today to show the unseen costs of running a shelter, but we only got as far as a handwritten list and then kittens and vet appointments took priority. When we ask for monetary donations, they're not going into someone's pockets. Our financials are always publicly open. They're going towards our residents. Some items like food, pellets, gloves, paper towels, etc get donated. But sometimes we're out and need them now so we buy it ourselves. Forgive the handwritten note. But this is what we used in ONE day. Any donations are always accepted.
