The organization is dedicated to promoting and documenting new works for large jazz ensembles created by American Composers. Focusing primarily on living composers the AJCO will accomplish its mission through performances recordings commissions artist residencies partnerships and educational outreach. History American JazzWorks and its performing wing the American Jazz Composers Orchestra AJCO was incorporated in Texas in November 2011.
