Standing strong during someone's most critical moments is what drives Wafi Abdulla, RN and preceptor at Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital. As a preceptor, Wafi mentors new nurses - building up their confidence so they can also be strong for their patients. He encourages new nurses to ask questions and never be afraid to do so because it’s the best way they’ll grow and improve. Wafi is currently pursuing his master’s degree in nursing at Chamberlain University to become a family nurse practitioner. “It’s been a journey,” he said. “But I want to keep growing, and I want to make a difference beyond the bedside.” Outside of work, Wafi is grounded in his Yemeni heritage. He loves listening to Arabic music, eating homemade Yemeni food and frequenting the mosque. He enjoys hitting the gym, grabbing coffee with friends, watching FC Barcelona games and spending quality time with his family. (fb)
