Did You Know? Leavenworth Senior High School students are now earning industry-recognized certifications in digital media! 🤩 All thanks to the efforts of educators Steve Short, Geila Dodin, and Heather Waters. The trio secured an Innovative Teacher Grant from the Leavenworth Public Schools Education Foundation to fund curriculum and testing for Adobe Certified Professional exams. The grant supports training and certification opportunities in high-demand digital fields, including: 📸 Visual Design (Photoshop) 🎥 Digital Video (Premiere Pro) 👾 Visual Effects & Motion Graphics (After Effects) 💻 Graphic Design & Illustration (Illustrator) This past semester served as a pilot for the program, with educators navigating new curriculum and certification requirements. Despite the steep learning curve, the initial results have been promising.💪 Just before graduation, two of Steve Short’s seniors, Jeremiah Euliss and Xavier Eddins, became the first Pioneers to earn Adobe Certified Professional credentials in Visual Design (Photoshop). Their success marks an important milestone in the program's launch and demonstrates the real-world value these certifications can offer students.🥳 “Our goal is to prepare students with skills that give them a competitive edge in college and the workforce,” said Steve Short. “Seeing students earn certifications before they even graduate is incredibly rewarding.” With plans to expand the program next fall, the team hopes to certify more students across multiple Adobe platforms. #ProudToBeAPioneer 💙 (fb)
