The Wichita Scottish Rite Charitable Trust
The Wichita Scottish Rite Charitable Trust is created for purposes of encouraging and supporting religious, charitable, scientific, literary, and/or education activities, including, not by way of limitation, the following: a) Direct aid or relief to the poor or distressed or the under-privileged by giving food, clothing, medical attention or otherwise aiding and assisting them; b) Solicitation and expenditure of funds for medical needs of crippled children; c) Solicitation and expenditure of funds to support one or more childhood language disorders clinics, to screen, treat and evaluate communications disorders of all kinds which children have; d) Grants of money and/or loans to defray tuition of students for furthering their education and training; and to defray the expense of educational or learning experiences in our historic building; e) In furtherance of 16 U.S.C. §470 et seq., National Historic Preservation, the solicitation and expenditure of funds to protect, preserve, restore, rehabilitate, refurbish, and maintain the historic, cultural, structural integrity and public features of the Scottish Rite Temple of Wichita, Kansas, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its historical value and unique architecture. f) To use this historic structure to encourage educational, artistic and historic events and to solicit donations and contributions supporting the offering of such events. The donations and contributions may be used for salaries and services which support the events.
