UPDATE: Fern found a new home 💕 **COURTESY POST** Midland VA…Fern is in need of a loving home or rescue! We received this email today… “I hope this email finds you well. I’m writing to let you know that I have come to the difficult decision to surrender my beloved dog, Fern. She’s an incredibly sweet and fun-loving companion, and it breaks my heart to have to part with her. Unfortunately, due to my upcoming move for a new position, I’m no longer able to provide her with the care she deserves, nor can I take her with me. Fern is truly the best dog anyone could ask for. She loves the outdoors more than anything and will happily spend the entire day outside, soaking up the sun and enjoying the fresh air. While she enjoys a quick cuddle session, her independent nature shines through, and she’s always up for fun adventures. She’s loving and friendly, with a warm personality that brightens every room she’s in. I’ve never met a dog so full of joy and life, and I truly believe she will be a wonderful addition to any family. I want to ensure that she goes to a loving home where she will be cared for and cherished, as she deserves. While she hasn’t had a lot of exposure to other dogs, she has lived with another female and did well. She is leery of men and scared of a lot of things but she is loving and very soft. She loves hugs and going on short walks but also likes her alone time laying in the grass sleeping the day away. Fern needs to find placement by the end of the month. Copper had his first vet consult today. He is up to 64lbs! 🎉 While we are still waiting for all of his bloodwork to come back, this is what we know now… His white blood cell count is still off and he’s still anemic. One of his ears is so swollen that she couldn’t get a good visual or sample. His heart and lungs sound good and he is not clinically symptomatic from the heartworms so we are continuing the Doxy. And he will need entropion surgery and a dental. But the one thing she’s most concerned about is the mass on his shoulder which she feels it needs to come off and biopsied. We won’t know if it’s cancer or not until that happens. So the tentative plan is to do the mass removal, and while he’s under she will flush his ear out and do a chest X-ray. Then we will go from there… When he got home, he needed some grandma time ❤️🥰 Please continue to keep this sweet boy in your prayers. We will keep everyone updated as things progress…🐾💕 (fb)
