Friends of Douglas County K9 Colorado The Friends of Douglas County K9 K9 Friends is the only nonprofit organization solely committed to the financial support of the Douglas County Sheriffs Office K9 Unit. With the exception of deputy salaries and vehicles the DCSO K9 Unit is funded almost entirely by donations. Since 2011 K9 Friends has had the privilege of helping the DCSO K9 Unit purchase 11 new dogs provide worldclass training and an array of specialized equipment. We also provide topnotch veterinary care to retired K9s so they can live out the rest of their lives in the best possible health.
