Last fall, we brought back Team NeighborLink for a special night to raise funds for a neighbor in need of urgent roof repairs. With the help of Mercado, a locally owned Cali-Mex restaurant, and a generous crowd of supporters, we made it a night to remember. But the story didn’t end there. We had to wait out the winter and finalize a few logistics, but last week, the roof work finally began for our neighbor Debbie. Debbie, a widowed senior with mobility issues, lives with and cares for her adult daughter, who also has a disability. A leak in their roof had been seeping into the living room for far too long. With the help of MBN Properties, the repairs, too large for most volunteer teams, officially got underway, bringing safety and peace of mind back to this family’s home. This is what happens when neighbors come together with compassion, skill, and generosity. Thank you to everyone who gave, supported, or showed up. You’ve truly made a lasting difference! (fb)
