Through sports youth learn to compete, cooperate with one another, deal with success and failure, take risks, as well as develop and maintain friendships. Sports can play a particularly vital role because what is learned on the playing field is not always taught or encouraged in other areas of their lives.The balance between academics and athletics is a winning combination that leads to success in school, college, and career.
