SCP is an urban wild parrot rescue based in San Diego. We rescue injured & orphaned wild parrots from throughout Southern California. A non-profit dedicated to the rescue & rehabilitation of Southern California's naturalized parrots. SoCal Parrot was founded to bridge the gap of care and consideration for wild, naturalized parrots and to be a resource for wild parrot rehabilitation, education and protection. We rehabilitate and release any injured or orphaned parrots that are wild, not domesticated. The existing parrot flocks in Southern California were started by wild caught parrots that were brought here to be used in the pet trade. Many of the parrots that we help are endangered due to loss of habitat in their native ranges. It is possible in the foreseeable future that the wild parrots living within our cities may be the only surviving populations of the parrots that are endangered. We serve all of Southern California where wild parrots are found, from Santa Barbara to the border.

And just like that, our first baby parrot of the season has arrived. This nestling Amazon was found on the sidewalk in Ocean Beach, being pecked at by crows. Two kind people noticed the parrot on the ground, immediately reached out to us, and were quickly able to coordinate transporting the baby over to our center.
