Writing Through is a charitable organization which uses creative writing as a tool to develop thinking skills, language fluency and self-esteem in marginalized and at risk populations throughout the world. Writing Through is a unique, proven program of workshops which uses writing poems and stories as a tool to help students and adults learn and think in new ways. Writing Through helps our students find their voices and express their thoughts. This instills confidence and self-esteem, which they carry into every other part of their lives. We challenge our workshop participants first to think in a deeper way about their lives. We work beside local teachers to help them find the English words to express their thoughts, regardless of their level of English fluency. And finally, to stand up and share their words out loud and with pride. Writing Through seeks to help everyone find their unique voice, and use it to navigate their world. We are doing that one poem, one story at a time.

Welcome - Writing Through Creating Voices Changing Lives WHAT WE DO AND WHY Writing Through is an international educational USregistered nonprofit which partners with local organizations to provide specially developed workshops where creative writing is used as a tool to develop thinking skills creativity language fluency and selfesteem. Writing Through is nonsectarian and operates in all communities that can benefit from our work creating spaces which aim to amplify every voice. The Why Research shows that 30 to 50 of school systems globally rely on rote memorization. Yet research also shows that todays world needs engaged and contributing citizens who are able to think conceptually and critically know what they believe and have the confidence and poise to stand up and say it in their own voices.

Writing Through
'Last month, Writing Through visited the Ponheary Ly Foundation , where I had the privilege of joining as an intern during their workshop. It has been such a meaningful experience to work so closely with the students, listening to their voices and watching their creativity come alive on the page. Throughout the workshop, we explored poetry, storytelling, and journaling, using these tools to reflect on identity, equality, and empathy.
