The mission of Sandhills School is to provide a successful learning environment for students who learn differently and who benefit from evidence-based, multisensory instruction.Sandhills School is nationally recognized as one of twelve model schools in the nation that is accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE) for using the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching students who learn differently. As the only accredited school in the Midlands region, Sandhills is also one of sixteen AOGPE accredited teacher training centers in the nation. In addition, the school serves as an educational resource for the community on language-based learning differences. Along with the regular day school program, summer skills programs and tutoring are offered to outside students. Sandhills is the recognized expert in teaching students with learning differences and inspiring them to enjoy learning.
