𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗧 The Numidia lies draped across the northern slope of Big Brother Island, beginning at 80–85 m/262–279 ft and stretching all the way to the surface. From the depths, she is nothing short of majestic. A British cargo ship built in 1901, the Numidia struck Big Brother’s northern reef in July 1901—just two months into her second voyage. Today, she’s one of the Red Sea’s most iconic deep wrecks, her steel structure beautifully encrusted with coral and alive with marine life. This cover shot was captured by Quest Editor-in-Chief Jesper Kjøller, using a Nikon D850 with a Nikon 8-15 mm lens in a Nauticam housing with Inon strobes. Settings: 1/100 sec, f/8.0, ISO 1600—dialed in for the deep, low-light environment. As Jesper framed the wreck and the diver modeling, Michel Salsman documented the moment behind the scenes, capturing Jesper in action. Swipe through for a rare glimpse into what it takes to create an iconic underwater image—and to meet one of the Red Sea’s most legendary wrecks. #BehindTheCover #QuestMagazine #Numidia #RedSeaWrecks #UnderwaterPhotography #TechnicalDiving #DeepDiving #NikonD850 #Nauticam #InonStrobes #WreckDiving #BTS (fb)

Congratulations to Esther Trösch, GUE's newest Fundamentals instructor in Germany! https://www.gue.com/diver-training/gue-instructors/instructor-resume?id=64918 From Esther: In 2017, I stumbled into diving by accident while in Bali – and in 2019, I discovered the fascinating world of GUE. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a true passion. Since becoming a GUE Rec 1 Instructor two years ago, I’ve had the joy of guiding many new divers through their first steps – with a focus on safety, enthusiasm, and care. Now, I’m incredibly proud to continue this journey as a GUE Fundamentals Instructor. The Fundamentals course lies at the core of the GUE system – where technique, mindset, and passion come together. I’m excited to help divers grow, refine their skills, and unlock their full potential. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported me along the way – your trust, encouragement, and honest feedback mean the world to me. Let’s keep growing together – skill by skill, dive by dive!
