Greetings Friends, Neighbors and @friendsofpqcanyon Next week Aguilar Plant Care, Inc. will be conducting our annual pesticide treatment to control Gold Spotted Oak Borer in our Coast Live Oaks. For your safety, affected trails will be closed for the duration of active spraying and subsequent drying time for the treatment. We are lucky to have gotten to schedule this needed treatment this year, and we appreciate your patience with the process. The treatment is a selective application of the chemicals BaseLine (FMC Corp) and Pentra Bark (Quest) on infested and adjacent vulnerable oaks. Total treatment time will be June 10th-12th, 2025 from 6:30am-1pm. Anticipated closures are: June 10 - South Side Trails from Ranch House Crossing to the Waterfall (shown in pink on the map) June 11 - North Side Trails from Ballfields to the Waterfall (shown in orange on the map) June 12 - Remainder of North Side Trails + Trans-County Trail east of Black Mountain Rd. to I15/Cara Way (shown in orange on the map) While the above schedule reflects our plan, actual closures may change due to application speed and tank limitations. We are aiming to keep one side of the creek passable at a time. Detours (shown in blue on map) will be signed at Sycamore Crossing and the Ranch House Crossing each day of the closure to direct trail users to whichever trail is safe for use.
