Sibinacocha Watershed Project – A Project To Preserve a Threatened Environment A Threatened Landscape From rapid climate change to destructive mining the Sibinacocha watershed is under threat. A Changing Climate Rapid climate change in the Sibinacocha watershed provides a living laboratory for studying its effects on this extreme ecosystem. Life After Glaciers Ecological succession and determining how microbial life functions in this changing landscape opens new windows into life in extreme environments. Rare and Diverse Mammals Rare predators or elusive prey all must be able to move or adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
