METTA CALANA is established as a non-profit public charity in the United States to help facilitate grant applications and public donations for itself and its partner indigenous community based organizations working on the Thai Burma border. Metta is a Buddhist term meaning loving-kindness for all living creatures. Calana is an abbreviation of California Analytica, a non-profit corporation that seeks to address transnational public health issues through research and education. Therefore the name Metta Calana connotes technical capabilities infused with humanitarian benevolence; scientific understanding complimenting and focusing the spirit of Metta.
