This is the official page of Midway Professional Firefighters Association of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), Local 3617. A 501(c) (5) organization. Originally, formed as South Strand Professional Firefighters & Paramedics Association, L3617 in the early 1990s, which has evolved over the years just like the area it covers. In 2014, members decided to make the move and change the name to Midway Professional Fire Fighters Association, L3617. Currently, all our members work for Midway Fire Rescue in Pawleys Island, SC. MPFFA, L3617 has over thirty members in its ranks and serves to offer member support with training, counseling, benefits and equipment. We also offer departmental support and community support for various events and challenges throughout the year. Each and every one of our members is responsible to ourselves, our families and those we work with to come home safe. Our mission is to get our members home safe, every day.
