LOS ANGELES UNDERWATER EXPLORERS
Los Angeles Underwater Explorers (LAUE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the exploration and conservation of our planet's underwater regions. Most of our activities take place in Southern California. LAUE is involved in a variety of short and long-term projects which range from large scale single weekend events to ongoing focused research projects. Our primary effort is the removal of ghost nets- the term used for extremely large commercial fishing nets that are lost or abandoned at sea. These ghost nets will continue to harm, trap and kill marine life for decades or centuries, depending on the material they are made of. It is critical to remove this debris as it will wreak havoc on delicate marine ecosystems.Los Angeles Underwater Explorers is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible contribution to LAUE, please send a message to [email protected].
