AIR (Arts Incubator of Richardson), a 501c3, is a center for creativity, innovation & collaboration. AIR is seeking funding for a permanent space. Arts, creativity, incubating ideas, generating innovation Mission StatementAIR's mission is to provide the Richardson community with an affordable facility and resources for nurturing artistsand innovative thinkers; and igniting a spirit of creativity that permeates our entire community.VisionOnce a community has been exposed to this artistic synergy, the good that can be wrought is beyond measure. It infuses every fiber of our lives with creativity and ardor—our schools, our businesses, our charities, our homes…our hearts.AIR, a 501(c)(3), is a center and network for creativity, innovation and collaboration. Arts groups, individual artists and corporations use AIR as a center for inspiration—whether teaching, rehearsing, exhibiting or problem solving with a creative twist. AIR's practical side offers space for rehearsals, classes and conducting business. Simply by virtue of being housed in a single space, collaboration will be a focus as the center's users rehearse, perform, create, exhibit, meet and hold workshops and classes. Artists who are part of the AIR network but are based throughout the City receive the same benefits as those housed in the primary center. Immediate Goals:• Secure operating funds to: 1) hire an architect or consultant for renovation and/or building needs; and 2) to support a capital fundraising campaign.• Secure a space—donated, purchased or partnered. As of January 2015, AIR entered into a partnership with the City of Richardson to find a space. Both the City and AIR are doing their due diligence to determine the appropriate type facility for Richardson, as well as defining the exact nature of the partnership.Provide lease rates palatable to aspiring artists and arts groups through an incentive program partnering with the City, property owners, developers, and lessees. Appeal to city leaders, corporate residents and those who are considering moving their companies to Richardson.• Utilize committees to help with the load as AIR grows.• Expand AIR Time, SEED, and other programming to increase community presence and branding.Long-term Goals:• Generate an income stream from leases, ticket sales, gift shop revenue, and multi-purpose space rental.• Develop programming that weaves together students and residents, as well as business and artistic communities.• Be a vibrant destination for visitors and residents.• Capture the hearts and minds of Richardson residents.
