From May 27-28, the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) successfully led a delegation of ten prominent U.S. food and agriculture companies for a series of meetings with key officials in Jakarta, Indonesia. USABC’s Regional Managing Director and Senior Vice President, Amb. Brian McFeeters (ret.), headed the business mission. The mission focused on fostering multi-stakeholder strategy, advancing public-private cooperation, and highlighting the U.S. private sector’s contributions to Indonesia’s food and agriculture sector. Discussions encompassed the private sector’s development of Indonesia's food and agriculture supply chain, from sustainable agriculture and animal health development to biotechnology and food and beverage goods. The delegation met with senior officials from the Coordinating Ministry of Food Affairs, Ministry of Environment, National Research Agency (BRIN), Ministry of Trade, and the Ministry of National Development Planning. In addition, the group met with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Kadin). The delegation included Bayer, Corteva Agriscience, The Coca-Cola Company, Elanco Animal Health, Illumina, The Lubrizol Corporation, Mondelez International, and PepsiCo Indonesia. (fb)
