Advancing Californias Future California Coalition for Public Higher Education Californias worldclass public colleges and universities provide an educated workforce and spark the industries that make our economy one of the largest and most vibrant in the world. Massive reductions in State support for public higher education have triggered tuition and fee increases larger class sizes and other significant cutbacks that undercut the effectiveness of public campuses that form the backbone of Californias economy and are integral to the quality of life in our state.
