It was established as a memorial cruise to honor and remember close family members who had passed away or were diagnosed with cancer. The organization's mission is to use the passion for rat rods, classic cars, and hot rods to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, patients, caregivers, and related organizations.

The concept of the eRATicate Cancer Cruise originated when four friends sought a meaningful way to cope with the impact of cancer on their families. They decided to organize a car cruise event, leveraging their love for driving rat rods to raise money for cancer-related causes. The event quickly gained momentum and expanded beyond its local roots, becoming a national movement.
