Our mission is to increase awareness of and find a cure for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Facebook (Alpha-1 Foundation) & Instagram (Alpha1Foundation). Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency is a genetic condition that may result in lung and/or liver disease. The mission of the Alpha-1 Association is to identify those affected by Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and to improve the quality of their lives through support, education, advocacy, and encourage participation in research. More than 745 individuals served as volunteers and the Association has touched the lives of more than 3,000 Alphas and family members through its programs and services in 2012.
