In honor of International Women’s Day, we recognize and celebrate the contributions of women in the appraisal profession. The Women’s Initiative Committee (WIN), established in 2019, was originally organized by a group of dedicated professionals, including current AI President Paula Konikoff. WIN is dedicated to increasing visibility, leadership opportunities, and support for women in the field. WIN actively fosters professional growth through initiatives such as the Women’s Initiative Spotlight Award, an annual recognition of women appraisers who exemplify leadership and mentorship. Additionally, our Mentorship Program is designed to guide and support newer women appraisers as they advance in their careers. To further strengthen our community, WIN has developed a Chapter Resource Guide to assist in establishing and expanding WIN committees at the Chapter and Regional levels. We encourage all AI members to get involved—whether by joining an existing WIN committee or starting one in your Chapter.
