Foothills Conservancy of NC is a nonprofit that protects land and water in Western North Carolina DEDICATED TO WORKING COOPERATIVELY WITH LANDOWNERS AND PUBLIC AND PRIVATE CONSERVATION PARTNERS TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT IMPORTANT NATURAL AREAS AND OPEN SPACES OF THE BLUE RIDGE FOOTHILLS REGION, INCLUDING WATERSHEDS, ENVIRONMENTALLY SIGNIFICANT HABITATS, FORESTS AND FARMLAND, FOR THIS AND FUTURE GENERATIONS. THE CONSERVANCY SERVES EIGHT COUNTIES: ALEXANDER, BURKE, CALDWELL, CATAWBA, CLEVELAND, LINCOLN, MCDOWELL AND RUTHERFORD.

Foothills Conservancy envisions a thriving region to live and visit with clean water healthy forests productive farmland diverse wildlife access to outdoor recreation and communities that value conservation. A 501c3 nonprofit Foothills Conservancy serves eight counties Alexander Burke Caldwell Catawba Cleveland Lincoln McDowell and Rutherford in three major river basins the Broad Catawba and Yadkin.

Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina Inc
The Copper Ridge Trailhead in Old Fort, NC just got a makeover. The parking lot has been paved, we've had several workdays to clean up the trail from damage that happened during Helene, and there's a brand new trail map in the kiosk. Copper Ridge is part of the Fonta Flora State Trail, a 100-mile long planned hike & bike trail system that will eventually connect Morganton to Asheville.
