The museum's powercar has spent the last couple of months inside the shop while our volunteers have worked to return the car to service. All HEP lines, brake lines, and steps have been rebuilt or reattached. The generator has been serviced and test ran and all of the car's systems are functioning as they should. New doors are being made to replace the deteriorated side doors as well as some rust repair of the door sills. Some air brake work also remains. To date, $26,880 has been raised towards our fundraising goal of $50,000. There is still a ways to go to complete fund-raising. Funds raised go not only to the powercar, but also to purchase the necessary supplies to add HEP (Head End Power) capabilites to a couple of our other cars as well. With your help, it won't be long before we see the powercar out on the rails providing power for our train's HVAC and lighting systems.
