On a cool, sunny Vermont day like today, Tasha would have been transplanting her seed-started violas and pansies from the cold frame and into her spring garden. A Richard Brown photo from the early 1990s captures Tasha so well (see previous post). In her late 70s, she remained spry, moving from planting to painting to cooking to milking goats to afternoon tea to letter writing, all in the course of a day. The Tasha Tudor Society aims to preserve as many details of her life as possible, especially by collecting the letters she wrote. She didn't keep a diary, but she was a prolific letter writer. Her letters often contained precious details of her daily life and, if needed, were accompanied by drawings to illustrate a topic. I'm so pleased to announce that the Society community came to together to support this work by gifting 330 donations during the spring membership drive and that we have met our goal of raising $15,000!
