Many people arrive at CATR feeling hopeless after trying a myriad of therapies and activities without success. The joy experienced when gaining the attention of a horse grazing in the pasture, touching a muzzle for the first time, or moving astride a 1000-pound animal is completely unmatched. This unfiltered joy creates the crack that lets the light in. As the light brightens dark spots, hope begins to flicker and eventually ignites! With the hope of a brighter future, a more peaceful mind, and a stronger body comes incredible progress that was once unimaginable. This year has been marked by letting the light in for our participants and for our organization as a whole. We have improved upon existing programs, have been open to new opportunities in response to the growing needs in our community, and have begun planning for future demands. Most importantly, our innovative staff, experienced horses, dedicated volunteers, and committed donors have made a deep impact on those CATR serves directly and the many more that are touched by the life-changing moments that happen between horses and humans each day.
