🎉 Welcome Home, Coach Puryear! 🏈 We’re thrilled to announce that Jahlil Puryear ’17 is returning to BRS as Interim Head Coach & Director of Football Operations for the 2025–26 season! After an unexpected turn of events, we’re grateful for the opportunity to bring Coach Puryear back to St. George—something we’ve always hoped for. As a student, he was a Prefect, St. George Award winner, and helped lead us to a 2016 State Championship. After continuing his success at Hampton University and growing as a coach at BRS and Sidwell Friends, he’s now back to lead a talented squad into the future. Puryear discovered his passion for coaching in high school, spending summers volunteering with local youth teams. His professional coaching career began at BRS in 2022, where he was promoted to defensive coordinator after just one season and played an essential role in our state-championship runner-up season in 2023. Puryear inherits a solid core of returning players to defend BRS's 2024 State Championship and Undefeated Season. His coaching staff are equally excited about his return, as are all of us who know him. He is a model Baron alumnus and leader among his peers in every respect.
