Today we continue raising awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S). The red handprint has become a powerful symbol — representing the thousands of Indigenous people whose voices have been silenced by violence and ignored by the media and law enforcement. This sacred act is meant for Native people and honors those who have endured oppression and are rising to say: #NoMoreStolenSisters. Important statistics to know: 🔴 84% of Native women and girls experience violence in their lifetimes. 🔴 86% of sexual assaults against Native women and girls are committed by non-Native men. 🔴 More than 4 out of 5 American Indian/Alaska Native women have experienced violence. 🖤 Their voices matter.
