Linked Learning Alliance
The Linked Learning Alliance is the engine that drives the Linked Learning movement—a national coalition of educators, employers, and community organizations dedicated to success for all young people. The Linked Learning Alliance is the engine that drives a movement to help every young person determine their own future through the Linked Learning approach, integrating rigorous academics, career technical education, work-based learning (WBL), and support services. Our mission is to create public will for equity and excellence in education, elevate the practice of Linked Learning across America, and advance policies that serve all young people. We focus on five core areas to fulfill our mission: field advancement, practice, research, public will, and advocacy.

Linked Learning Alliance
The Linked Learning Alliance is a U.S. based nonprofit organization, designated as a 501(c)(3) entity, dedicated to advancing educational equity and excellence in America's schools. The organization focuses on supporting educators, employers, and communities in providing young people with high-quality educational experiences that integrate rigorous academics with career technical education and real-world applications.
Purpose and Mission
The primary mission of the Linked Learning Alliance is to ensure that all young people, particularly between the ages of 14 and 24, have access to educational pathways that lead to meaningful careers and personal fulfillment. This critical period, often referred to as the "decade of difference," is seen as pivotal in shaping identities, aspirations, and lifelong achievements.
The Alliance works to integrate four core components into educational systems:
- Rigorous Academics: Ensuring that students meet the admission requirements for state colleges and universities.
- Career Technical Education: Providing concrete skills and knowledge through structured courses related to specific industry sectors.
- Work-Based Learning: Offering real-world experiences through job shadowing, internships, and apprenticeships.
- Comprehensive Support Services: Including counseling and supplemental instruction to address students' individual needs.
Activities and Advocacy
The Linked Learning Alliance acts as a collective voice for educators, employers, and communities advocating for policies that support Linked Learning. It sets quality standards for Linked Learning practices and fosters collaboration among stakeholders to improve student outcomes. The organization also engages in communications efforts to enhance public understanding of the benefits of Linked Learning.
The Alliance supports the development of learning pathways that connect students with local industries, such as healthcare, technology, and environmental sciences, ensuring that students' learning experiences are relevant and applicable in real-world contexts.
Keep Us Linked Campaign
The Linked Learning Alliance also leads the "Keep Us Linked" campaign, which advocates for expanded funding and support for college and career preparation initiatives in California. This campaign emphasizes the need for high-quality educational experiences that lead to meaningful careers and are critical for California's economic growth and equity.
Financials
As an educational nonprofit, the Linked Learning Alliance relies on contributions, program services, and investment income. Contributions make up the largest portion of its revenue, highlighting the organization's reliance on philanthropic support to continue its mission.
