The primary purpose of Kevala Retreat is to develop and maintain a Buddhist contemplative retreat facility, in order to support the study and practice of Buddha-Dhamma within the Buddhist community and among other interested people of good will. Kevala Retreat provides facilities and support for individuals and small groups to pursue contemplative retreat and study, in a peaceful setting, for the purpose of deepening wisdom and cultivating peace.

Kevala Retreat – A Midwestern Dhamma Refuge for contemplative practice and awakening wisdom A Midwestern Dhamma Refuge for contemplative practice and awakening wisdom deepening wisdom cultivating peace Kevala Retreat is a BuddhaDhamma refuge in southwestern Wisconsin that hosts individual and small group selfretreats for mature students of BuddhaDhamma. Our roots are in the Thai Theravada tradition of Buddhism and we are inspired by Suan Mokkh the Garden of Liberation founded by Buddhadasa Bhikkhu in southern Thailand. We are dedicated to providing a natural setting for personal retreat and study in an environment of contemplative silence solitude and simplicity. Kevala Retreat operates on a donation basis according to the traditional Buddhist practice of dana generosity and is supported by guests and others who appreciate Kevalas existence.
