Carmel PorchFest was established in 2014, inspired by the first PorchFest, which began in Ithaca, New York in 2007. This event has grown into a nationwide phenomenon, with Carmel being one of the many participating cities. Carmel PorchFest typically occurs in September and features approximately 60 local bands performing on around 20 porches in the Arts & Design District neighborhood. It attracts between 10,000 to 15,000 attendees annually, offering a family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of musical acts and food and beverage vendors.
In addition to the main PorchFest event, Carmel PorchFest Inc. hosts "Late Night on Main" during the summer months. This is a street party held on Main Street, featuring live music performances and food vendors. The event takes place on the third Saturday of each summer month.
