The Bulloch-Habersham House was built in 1819 by famed architect William Jay. Originally built for Archibald S. Bulloch, the home was sold shortly after he lost his fortune following Savannah’s Great Fire of 1820. It operated as a boarding house until its sale to planter and merchant Robert Habersham in 1832 and was the ancestral home of the mother of Anna Colquitt Hunter, one of the Seven Ladies who founded HSF. The home was unfortunately razed by the city in 1916 to make way for the Savannah Municipal Auditorium, which was later replaced by the Civic Center.
