🐴 Meet Horses Seeking New Homes Through Our Owner 2 Owner Program (O2O) Our O2O Program — formerly known as the Maryland Equine Transition Service (METS) — helps connect horse owners directly with potential new homes for their horses, without the horses ever entering DEFHR’s facility or adoption program. This direct home-to-home transition minimizes stress for the horse, reduces risk, and eases the burden on overcrowded rescue organizations. It also encourages open, supportive communication between current and future owners. Through our easy-to-use digital platform, owners receive guidance and resources to responsibly rehome their horses. They also join a welcoming community where they can share stories, histories, and experiences — all with ongoing access to DEFHR’s team of equine experts.
