SALT Outreach Inc., also known as Service and Love Together, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in the United States. It is dedicated to serving the homeless population in Central Florida by providing comprehensive mobile drop-in centers.

History

The organization was incorporated in May 2012 as a nonprofit in the State of Florida. Initially, it began operations by engaging in outreach to unsheltered individuals. In 2012, SALT Outreach held its first anniversary event, which attracted significant interest from the community. The founder, Eric Camarillo, transitioned into a full-time role for the organization to expand its efforts.

Services and Programs

SALT Outreach offers a range of services designed to meet the needs of homeless individuals, including:

• Showers and Hygiene Products: SALT operates a mobile shower trailer equipped with full bathrooms, providing essential hygiene services.
• Clothing and Laundry: It distributes clothing and offers laundry services to ensure cleanliness.
• Food and Snacks: Providing snacks to support nutrition.
• Charging Stations: Allowing individuals to charge their phones.
• Mail Services and Storage: Facilitating access to mail services and safe storage for personal belongings.
• Haircuts: Offering haircuts to support overall well-being.
• Case Management and Mental Health Counseling: Providing professional guidance and support for personal and mental health needs.
• Street Outreach: Conducting outreach efforts to engage with homeless individuals more effectively.

Expansion and Partnerships

In 2018, SALT Outreach launched its mobile shower trailer after raising over $40,000. The organization gained local recognition through media coverage. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it partnered with the City of Orlando to provide hygienic services three times a week, significantly expanding its operations. This partnership included a $250,000 grant from the City of Orlando to enhance services for the homeless population. SALT Outreach has reported helping more than 1,750 individuals through its services from August 2020 to January 2024.

In fiscal year 2019, contributions made up 66.8% of its total revenue, with net fundraising events contributing an additional 33.2%[1].
