THE WORK serves the community of Gilmer and Upshur County, Texas offering citizens not a hand out, but a hand up. We provide services such as counseling, tutoring, construction of handicap ramps on low income or disabled persons' housing, American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance of homes, and other support for elderly, low income, or citizens with other needs. In addition, we have a full service pregnancy help center which serves to offer women and girls assistance through an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy. THE OPEN DOOR PREGNANCY HELP CENTER'S Mission is to provide life affirming pregnancy support to families experiencing an unplanned pregnancy; educate pregnant women and their families about abortion alternatives; support pregnant women and their families through the decision making process by helping them find quality medical care, counseling, and supplies; and rebuild families by helping them find biblical solutions to parenting, sexual integrity and marriage .
