MDH Insurance Update McDonough District Hospital agreed to and signed an insurance contract with Aetna insurance HMO and OAP plans. The agreement goes into effect June 1, 2025. Many state of Illinois employees (along with others who had Health Alliance insurance and need to find a different insurance plan) can choose the Aetna HMO plan and use all McDonough District Hospital services and see all MDH providers in-network. MDH (hospital and providers) is Tier I in-network for those who choose the Aetna OAP plans. HealthLink insurance plans are considered Tier I at MDH for both the hospital and providers. Earlier this year, MDH announced that patients with Aetna Medicare Advantage can use all McDonough District Hospital services and see all MDH providers as in-network.
