The Link trainer was designed in the 1920s as the first commercially built flight simulator. This simulator was important in training pilots during World War II as it was capable of simulating various flight conditions including drift, radio static and turbulence. The Link trainer is credited with training over 500,000 pilots in its use, according to the National Museum of the USAF. KAM currently has one on display in our engine area.
