Visions in Action was founded in 1989 to provide volunteers to indigenous nonprofit organizations in the developing world. Volunteers serve for 6-12 months in the areas of human rights, journalism, democratization, education, health, environment, food security, social work, microenterprise and community development. Visions has programs in South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Liberia and Mexico. Volunteers are committed to achieving social justice in the developing world through a grassroots community of self-reliant volunteers.
