Read To Me Project

Follow Message Edit

Founded in 2011 to address the root cause of Monterey County's low literacy rate where 7 out of 10 children are starting kindergarten as much as 2 years behind. Siblings Reading Succeeding. The Read to Me Project helps children achieve literacy and prepare for kindergarten, leading to a lifetime of success. Read to Me Project helps under-served children achieve kindergarten readiness and a lifetime of literacy by empowering school age brothers and sisters to read to their young siblings at home. We also raise public awareness about the literacy crisis and the need for language development and pre-reading skills during a child's first five years of life.
