MILLION OYSTER Partnership Clean filter our water Protect against Harmful Algal Blooms Provide habitat for the fish As filter feeders oysters significantly enhance water quality by removing excess nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus key pollutants in aquatic environments. They achieve this through assimilation and denitrification processes. In assimilation oysters consume algae incorporating nutrients into their tissues and shells.
