The 8th District Disaster Relief Center was established in 2005 due to the magnitude of need for assistance after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit the Gulf Coast Region. The center is committed to strenthen and empower families that are affected by disasters, through the provision of wholistic human services,that meet the educational,physical, financial, emotional and spiritual gaps of need. Our organization provides services that address the areas of preparedness, response and recovery through workshops, trainings, sheltering, supply distributions,case management,and counseling. Our main goal is that no family is left without assistance and a plan of recovery that have been affected by disasters.
