Saluda Shoals Foundation
The Saluda Shoals Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving as a steward of Saluda Shoals Park through financial support, fostering partnerships and creating community awareness of the park’s exceptional outdoor recreational activities, environmental education, and cultural opportunities.Saluda Shoals Park, established in 1999, is a public private-partnership between South Carolina Electric & Gas, the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission and the Saluda Shoals Foundation created to preserve and protect the (multi-county) Lower Saluda Scenic River Corridor for public use and enjoyment.The Saluda Shoals Foundation helps to sustain and protect a unique riverfront park where each year more than a half million people enjoy a variety of exciting activities from picnicking, canoeing, and environmental educational programs to musical concerts, theatrical productions and the annual Holiday Lights on the River.
